Additional information: We are a 24/7 emergency service. You will be required to occasionally be part of the social media rota system which includes shifts between 9am-8pm (Monday to Friday) and some weekend working.

Your role

We’re looking for an experienced social media professional who has the expertise to lead the delivery of the RNLI’s social media strategy and approach to paid social for several areas across the organisation including income generation, legacies, recruitment and much more. We’re looking for someone who has experience in advising and supporting a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation to help save lives at sea.

As Senior Social Media Manager, key responsibilities include:

- Overseeing the strategy and delivery of paid social media across multiple platforms and working with external agencies
- Working closely with the other Senior Social Media Manager to deliver the RNLI’s organic social media strategy
- Co-leading the RNLI’s approach to community management, across our social media channels
- Line managing a team of social media specialists
- Providing strategic and outcomes-focused responses to marketing briefs
- Driving forward social media fundraising for the RNLI
- Procuring, implementing and managing relevant social media tools and software
- Innovating in the social media space, including launching new channels
- Leading on the social media elements of crisis communication responses
- Working with a range of stakeholders including volunteers to expand the RNLI’s reach and protect the RNLI’s reputation

Please note that as part of the role you will also contribute to the team’s out-of-hours community management rota.

About you

The ideal candidate will be available to start immediately. To be considered for the Senior Social Media Manager role, you will have substantial experience leading on paid content and the strategic use of social media within a large organisation, as well as experience of line management and stakeholder management.
