Head of Social Overview
The Head of Social will lead and inspire a dynamic social media team, formulate and execute comprehensive social media strategies, oversee the creation of high-quality content, and evaluate performance metrics. This position demands strategic vision, strong leadership skills, and deep expertise in social media platforms to drive engagement and meet marketing goals across multiple high-profile accounts in various sectors.
The Head of Social Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement broad-reaching social media strategies in line with marketing objectives.
- Set objectives, define target audiences, and choose the most effective platforms for engagement.
- Oversee the creation and curation of engaging content across social channels, ensuring all content, including posts, images, videos, and multimedia, aligns with the target audience and brand identity.
- Lead and manage a team of social media managers, a TikTok Shop team, and an influencer outreach manager, promoting a collaborative and positive work culture while driving the team to achieve excellence.
- Analyse social media metrics and produce reports to assess the success of campaigns and strategies, identifying trends, user behaviour, and making data-driven improvements to optimise social media performance.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as paid ads, CRM, and SEO to ensure an integrated approach.
- Work with senior leadership to align strategies, manage social budgets, and deliver measurable results.
- Maintain an expert understanding of current trends, tools, and industry best practices, keeping up with algorithm changes, new platforms, and features to develop forward-thinking strategies.
- Share social media knowledge and best practices with the broader team to maintain a competitive edge.
- Several years of experience in the social media field.
- Strong understanding of omni-channel e-commerce marketing.
- Prior agency experience is essential.
- Proven leadership and management experience with teams across multiple social platforms.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to design comprehensive social media plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative vision with the ability to implement innovative strategies that engage target audiences.
- Expertise in analysing social media metrics and utilising analytics tools to track campaign performance and make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills, inspiring teams and driving productivity.
- Quick adaptability to new trends, technologies, and platforms, with the ability to adjust strategies accordingly.
- In-depth knowledge of major social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
- Experience with TikTok Shop and creator marketplace is crucial.
- Proficiency with social media management, scheduling, and reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of branding, ensuring consistent brand identity, values, and voice across social media.
