Are you a visionary leader with a strong background in Marketing, particularly within FMCG retail? Heron Foods is seeking a dynamic Head of Marketing to drive customer engagement and footfall while elevating the Heron Foods brand across our growing estate of over 330 stores. This is your opportunity to spearhead our marketing and communication strategies, leveraging your expertise to increase basket spend, boost customer retention, and enhance our digital presence.
In this key role, you'll lead the Marketing function, working closely with the Trading Director to develop and implement a robust 12-month Customer Trade Plan. Your focus will span from crafting a cohesive marketing strategy to overseeing digital initiatives and in-store branding. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the "look and feel" of our stores, ensuring consistency across new and existing locations, while keeping Heron Foods at the cutting edge of industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the overall marketing and communication strategy
Own and manage a rolling 12-month Customer Trade Plan
Lead the digital strategy for web and social channels
Drive the look and feel of stores in alignment with the marketing vision
Identify and implement new initiatives that align with our buying strategy
Build strong relationships with suppliers to maximise revenue and investment growth
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on marketing activities
Ensure effective delivery of initiatives within the Buying Strategy
Accountabilities:
Deliver the sales budget through customer acquisition, retention, and increased basket spend
Manage the Heron Foods brand, ensuring the development of brand guidelines and tone of voice
Lead the implementation of digital strategies, including website, mailing list, and app development
Control costs associated with new store openings and marketing activities
Ensure timely delivery of marketing strategies and initiatives
Person Specification:
Proven background in Marketing within FMCG retail
Experience leading, coaching, and developing a team
Strong understanding of digital strategy, including website and social media management
Expertise in brand development and customer trade planning
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong project and budget management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and deliver against business strategies
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
