Junior / Senior Account Manager - Community Engagement

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Junior Account Manager / Account Manager (JAM/AM) to join a communications agency specialising in the built environment. You will posess a strong understanding of the UK planning process and knowledge of how local and national government operates. In this role, you will support the delivery of stakeholder engagement strategies, planning communications (including marketing and consultation events), and integrated public relations (PR) campaigns. You will contribute to building and maintaining reputations for clients, driving investment and occupancy through effective local, regional, and national PR strategies.
As a key member of the team, you will assist senior project leads in writing and implementing PR plans, strategies, and timelines for client projects. You will be involved in drafting initial social media strategies, project and campaign evaluations, and assisting with consultation and stakeholder engagement plans. Additionally, you will manage day-to-day client accounts, acting as the primary liaison for clients and ensuring that their needs are met through clear and concise reporting, attending client meetings, and contributing to strategic discussions.
The JAM/AM will also play a key role in stakeholder engagement by supporting stakeholder mapping, compiling databases, drafting key messages, and liaising directly with stakeholders. You will manage the project delivery of stakeholder events, including planning, briefing clients, and overseeing the development of event content and presentations.
You will lead on the planning communications side of projects by managing consultation events and content creation for consultation materials.
In the PR aspect of the role, you will drive content generation for news, features, and proactive storytelling, taking ownership of client stories. You will sell-in stories to the media, identify opportunities, and manage reactive press, including drafting client statements and handling media enquiries. Furthermore, you will project manage press materials such as key messages, press packs, and fact sheets, while also cultivating relationships with target journalists and media outlets.
As a proactive member of the agency, you will support the senior management team in identifying new business opportunities, attending networking events, and contributing to team discussions, brainstorms, and new business proposals. You will help project manage the development of agency communications, including e-newsletters and social media, writing case studies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the agency’s practices.
