£28,000 - £34,000/annum

Our client, based in Slough, has a fantastic opportunity for a Development & Alumni Relations Officer.

You must have a strong interest in being part of a Development Team with huge ambition and a desire to succeed in a challenging “fundraising” world.

To support their plans for the future, their newly formed Development Office is looking for an organised, enthusiastic and hard-working individual who will be ready to listen and learn quickly.

You must be confident talking to a range of people, representing yourself as an informed, intelligent, calm and knowledgeable member of the team, never afraid to ask questions but equally enthusiastic looking for your own solutions.

You must have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt quickly to changing demands, together with a commitment to working in a team environment.

You must have confidence in MS Office and databases with strong numeracy and literacy skills.

Duties of the Role:

  • Operating a magazine/newsletter
  • Providing content and carrying out editorial duties for the publication
  • Organising reunions
  • Arranging network events
  • Encouraging donations to support bursaries, research and development
  • Managing the budget for the office
  • Responsibility for the website and online community
  • Arranging discounts, benefits and services
  • Communicating with departments and local businesses to arrange benefits packages
  • Attending national and international events

Special Requirements:

  • Qualified to degree level
  • Degrees in areas such a social science, business and marketing
  • Professional qualifications in areas of administration and marketing
  • Experience of operating events
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Copywriting and editorial skills
  • Industrious and creative
  • Strong IT skills / digital literacy

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
