Randstad Enterprise, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Customer Marketing Manager on behalf of a highly reputable company in the FMCG and Pet care sector.

This role is an initial 6 month contract with the flexibility to work predominantly remote and to be in their office based in Waltham on the Wolds 2 days every fortnight.

 

The successful Marketing Manager will be responsible for deploying best in class activations, bringing shopper centricity to the companies plans whilst being strategically aligned to the retailer agenda, SPT (Specialist Pet Trade) channel agenda and OGSM. The role will work with a mixture of large wholesalers and small independent stores and be responsible for implementing relevant field teams in Specialist Pet Trade. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deployment of the regions omni channel activation plans aligned to shopper insight & category vision, retailer strategy and the company priorities. 
  • Work closely with RTM accounts to support the CDMs in delivering Best in Class execution.
  • Manage creative process with the companies & retailer BTL agencies to ensure regional toolkits meet account requirements.
  • Creation & execution of retailer launch & love plans, ensuring all innovation is supported with best in class launch activation & maintained with a follow through plan for first 2 years to help build ROS to category median as a benchmark. Work with a cross-functional team to identify any performance challenges & adapt plans to ensure benchmark is delivered.
  • For partner customers lead shopper marketing activation annual plan negotiations through JMP/JBP process & influence externally to unlock new assets & optimise spend.
  • Meet regularly (minimum monthly) with SPT partner customer external marketing & commercial contacts to lock plans, provide updates on shopper insight, brand plans and post campaign analysis and track & ensure accountability to deliver the plans 
  • Support Customer Planning Days by bringing to life & providing retailer activation plans in line with PGSB (activation prioritisation) as well as any retailer/channels specific initiatives and align these with the cross functional team.
  • Management of account/channel annual budgets. Periodically update account teams, Shopper Marketing Controller & Finance and make recommendations to optimise budget where possible 
  • Pulling together post campaign analysis including shopper & financial metrics & sharing learnings with cross-functional teams, shopper marketing team & shopper marketing controller to influence shopper marketing playbook/golden rules
  • Be the expert on retailer specific agencies, loyalty programmes, available data & guidelines in order to build account specific insights, targeted activations where necessary and implementation of all media assets & stockholding units in line with retailer guidelines
  • Manage relationship with storage to ensure storage costs are maintained within budget, review storage items monthly with key contacts

 Key Skills / Experience Required:

  • Shopper / Customer Marketing, Marketing, Sales, Commercial Strategy or Category experience with ability to understand and translate brand strategies/plans into retailer strategies/plans which are embedded in shopper insight and are mutually beneficial for the company, Retailer and Shopper
  • Previous experience in FMCG - Pet experience would be advantageous
  • Customer facing experience demonstrating ability to assess needs, propose mutually beneficial solutions, overcome objections, face into difficult conversations, lead complex negotiations, build strong networks & relationships
  • Ability to stand alone, be action oriented, collaborate, plan & align and have good organisational agility.
  • Ability to turn data into insight 
  • Experience in budget management
  • Previous P&L management experience preferred
  • Effective communication, relationship building, networking & influencing skills as well as being able to demonstrate organisational agility, comfort in dealing with ambiguity & conflict in order to overcome complex challenges and implement the omnichannel shopper activation plan.  
  • The role will require some travel to key customers for meetings and brand days.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders at all levels from SPT team, regional marketing, MS&D, Category, Commercial & Activity Management, Sales & Finance.
