As Digital Communications and Social Media Manager you will help shape and develop the industry voice through enhanced digital communications and a more comprehensive digital approach to delivering news, views and information updates to current and future members. 

The focus is primarily on improving all aspects of digital communications and social media to promote the main trade sectors across the UK.

Through publications, industry schemes, initiatives, and consumer advice, the association provides many touchpoints for their members to benefit.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING.

The Digital Comms and Social Media Manager will use their proven social media and digital communications experience to deliver content, campaigns and managed social media channels effectively.

Developing innovative campaigns that deliver a targeted message to specific audiences.  This could be through both print, online and social media channels etc. 
 


Key responsibilities include.

  • Creating and delivering consistent and appealing digital communications content output for the trade association –predominantly for social media, website and email. This will also include the creation of video content, as well as digital and printed adverts and marketing brochures.
  • Proactively identify marketing opportunities to highlight the work of the trade organisation to its current membership as well as to new potential industry members.
  • Designing digital assets and promotional materials for online (and print) use, using Adobe Creative Suite (Cloud) and all current relevant tools.
  • Producing and posting regular and high-quality content across ‘X’/Twitter, LinkedIn plus explore new channel development i.e.  You Tube.
  • Actively engaging in other relevant industry related content such as engaging with other industry influencers
  • Analysing and reporting on digital communication KPIs (website and social media).
  • Contributing to the development of a more digital trade facing member magazine
  • Attending industry exhibitions and events, which may fall outside of standard office hours.

Skills knowledge and expertise that will enable you to thrive and excel in this role

  • Ability to film and edit videos for You Tube and social media.
  • Creating content and posts for various social media platforms and managing a regular schedule of social media activity.
  • Proven success in developing digital campaigns and monitoring success.
  • Ability to produce podcasts or run webinars.
  • Producing a digital magazine and/pr digital copy for website would be desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of graphic design for both print and digital purposes.
  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and design apps like Canva.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write interesting and grammatically correct copy and communicate persuasively to different audiences. 
  • A good understanding of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Updating website content using systems like Umbraco.
  • Ability to work autonomously remotely but also collaboratively within a team as required.
  • Experience of areas in the UK tourism industry, trade associations or membership associations would be advantageous.
