Elevation Recruitment Group - Marketing Division are excited to be exclusively working with a product-based company, that market beautiful product ranges. 

General overview:

As Marketing Assistant their core responsibilities will be to support the Marketing Department in the planning and executions of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

The role will involve coordination with various members and departments of the company to ensure our content covers a blend of relevant updates, marketing campaigns, product updates, promotions, blog articles, community engagement and more.

The primary objective of this role is to assist the Marketing department in driving brand awareness, customer engagement and sales growth.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Content Creation

  • Generate engaging and relevant content for various marketing channels including social media, website, newsletters, emails, press releases and print materials. Ensuring the content aligns with Abingdon tone of voice, branding,
  • and messaging
  • To support the content creation for new product launches, fresh marketing materials, marketing procedure documents, specification sheets and presentations

Social Media

  • Manage the company’s social media profiles. Schedule posts, monitor engagement, and engage with our followers and contacts
  • Craft exciting, market-leading social content, working with our in-house designer
  • Seek out new opportunities and ways to work with established and up-and-coming influencers
  • Identify & implement effective strategies for growing our social audience and reach across platforms and set ambitious targets to achieve both growth & advocacy
  • Community management - Replying to comments and engaging with the audience, liking, and commenting on content posted by other channels within our community

Market Research

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preference and competitor analysis
  • Identify customer personas to help develop targeted marketing campaigns

Email Marketing

  • Assist in creating and sending email marketing campaigns. Maintain/update contacts lists. Assess the effectiveness of the emails sent and produce monthly reports
  • Plan and execute an engaging content calendar in-line with key strategic objectives through a deep understanding of our audience and the competitor landscape
  • Develop month marketing update to engage our audience

Graphic Design

  • Create simple graphics or collaborate with our designers to produce visual content for marketing materials

Event Support

  • Provide assistance in organising promotional events and exhibitions. Organise support materials to assist the sales team with their objectives

Administration

  • Perform various administration duties such as scheduling meetings, maintaining databases, managing marketing calendars

Analytics

  • Good understanding of Google analytics, WooCommerce, Mailchimp and (url removed)

       PR

  • Develop, build, and maintain relationships with media partners and the press to build our profile and be a trusted source in the area
  • Explore opportunities for additional PR with end user press
  • Work with existing buying groups and associates and provide content for their magazines

Skills required for this role:

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be able to articulate ideas clearly, create compelling content, and communicate effectively with team members, clients, and external partners.

Creativity: Creativity is a crucial trait for a Marketing Assistant. This includes the ability to think outside the box, contribute innovative ideas to campaigns, and assist in the development of engaging marketing materials.

Organisational Skills: The candidate should be highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. This includes coordinating events, handling logistics, and ensuring that marketing campaigns are executed efficiently.

Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in common marketing tools and software is important. This includes experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, content management systems, and basic graphic design skills. Familiarity with analytics tools to track and measure campaign performance is a plus.

Adaptability: The marketing landscape is dynamic, and an ideal candidate should be adaptable to changes in trends and technology. Flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills are crucial.

Attention to Detail: The candidate should demonstrate a keen eye for detail. This includes proofreading content, checking design elements, and ensuring brand consistency.

Team Player: Marketing Assistants often work closely with other team members, so being a team player is essential. The ability to collaborate effectively, take constructive feedback, and contribute to a positive team culture is valuable.

Initiative and Proactiveness: The ideal candidate should show initiative and proactively seek opportunities to contribute to the marketing strategy. This could involve identifying areas for improvement, suggesting new ideas, or volunteering for additional responsibilities.

Understanding of Marketing Principles: A basic understanding of marketing concepts, including the marketing mix, target audience segmentation, and the customer journey, is beneficial.
