Job Purpose:
As Group Marketing Manager, you’ll lead a growing team responsible for a portfolio of leading trade exhibitions and publications.  You’ll inspire and coach the teams to deliver exceptional results and develop great relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, taking responsibility for developing comprehensive marketing strategies to maximise attendance, engagement, and overall success of our events and the growth of our publications.
 
Works closely with:
Marketing, Data, Web, Sales, Conference, Editorial/magazine teams
    
Main responsibilities:
To develop and implement marketing strategy, positioning and key messages for a portfolio of events and publications, working collaboratively with commercial and conference teams.
Blend hands on execution seamlessly with team management; optimising group performance.
Lead and develop a high performing team; setting objectives, managing performance and providing support and guidance.
Develop strategic audience development plans working with the data team, aligned to the shows’ growth plans
Develop and manage portfolio budgets and providing regular reports
Develop, negotiate and manage key relationships and partnerships with industry and sector media – bringing gravitas and developing brand awareness across key sectors
Oversee the execution of the marketing, promotions and communications campaign(s) and report on effectiveness and results
Management of the creative/design process for marketing material.
Regularly review marketing plans, analysing response rates/KPI’s optimising as appropriate to maximise success.
    
Key duties:
Exceptional leadership: leading by example, setting and reviewing objectives, taking a coaching mindset, guiding and developing a high performing team
Results focus: consistently optimise campaigns – spot opportunities and work collaboratively towards group objectives
Content creation: Drafting compelling copy for promotional materials, website content, social media posts, and email campaigns.
Campaign management: Lead in the execution and tracking of marketing initiatives across multiple platforms.
Research and analysis: Conducting market research, analyzing data, and preparing reports to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and design, to ensure alignment and synergy in marketing efforts. Develop powerful relationships across the business, Group and wider industry
Event support: Champion on-site marketing activities during exhibition and conferences, leading the on-site marketing effort
    
Key skills required:
Exceptional leadership and team development skills
Extensive budget management experience
Understanding of the exhibitions sector
Analytical and results driven
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with great attention to detail.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office, social media scheduling tools, website CMS systems, Email Service Providers/CRMs etc.
Creative thinker with a solutions focus
Thrives working at pace in an ever changing environment
