The Opportunity:

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic, consumer centric Senior Marketing Executive in Clarion’s Enthusiast Department which specializes in consumer live events. Events include Spirit of Christmas Fair, The Luxury Travel Fair, Winter Art & Antiques Fair and Destinations Travel events.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate, and competent, customer centric individual who is ready to take a key role in the delivery of first-class powerful marketing campaigns to drive visitor attendance within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong set of digital skills, the ability to communicate relevantly for each campaign and understand the core principles of marketing. Having the ability to manage their time independently and work well in a fast-paced environment across different campaigns at the same time are essential. Candidates for this role should have experience in a similar role.

The Spirit portfolio presents market-leading Christmas shopping experiences for discerning consumers. The scale of this portfolio of ‘best in market’ events attract approx. 800 exhibitors, including small independent brands, designer makers, art and antiques dealers, tourist boards and travel specialists. Each vetted to guarantee quality and authenticity ensuring each event’s product content is unrivalled and held in high regard within the market. Key media brand partnerships supporting these events include House & Garden and Condé Nast Traveller.

Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show in association with The Times and The Sunday Times, is the UK’s largest and longest- running travel event, displaying over 600 of the UK’s leading and independent specialist travel brands and tourist boards.  This exciting role offers great opportunity to have an impact on all of the above events. Personal development support will be given to enable the right candidate the opportunity to progress within the portfolio and Clarion.  There may also be opportunities to work across other portfolios within the Enthusiast Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the development of customer-centric marketing strategies.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery on time of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Content creation - writing and proofing copy for a range of marketing channels including websites, emails, social media and print and digital collateral.
  • Maintaining and updating event websites.
  • Planning, implementing and analysing engaging email campaigns.
  • Managing social media channels both organic and paid.
  • Writing design briefs and collaborating with the creative team to produce various collateral/assets for print adverts, magazine inserts, direct mail and digital activity.
  • Building relationships with key partners, sponsors, media, influencers and exhibitors.
  • General liaison with the PR agency.
  • Compiling and reporting on campaign effectiveness providing recommendations on opportunities for growth.
  • At the events – supporting the delivery of the at-show marketing campaign and event delivery process.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience of implementing successful multi-channel campaigns.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong copy writing, proofing and analytical skills.
  • Experience of building email campaigns and marketing automation (knowledge of Pardot ideal).
  • Understanding of customer data platforms and segmentation techniques (knowledge of Treasure Data ideal).
  • Understanding of tracking and response reporting.
  • Event Marketing experience preferable.
  • Good IT skills – word, excel as well as design website such as Canva.
  • An understanding of the luxury and travel consumer markets is ideal, but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a hard work ethic are essential to balance a varied and dynamic workload.
  • Ability to build good rapport with all internal and external contacts at all levels.
