Purpose

The Marketing & Business Development Assistant will play a key role in supporting marketing and communication activities to enhance brand visibility and increase referrals across all platforms. This role will involve supporting the development of key account relationships and driving revenue growth, working closely with the Head of Business Development, forming part of a small but dynamic team dedicated to implementing the business development and marketing strategy.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the company's digital platforms, including websites and social media channels, creating written and graphic-based content where required and ensuring that all messaging is consistent with the company's brand.

The Marketing & Business Development Assistant will demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for learning and developing in the training industry and will have the ability to analyse targeted health and social care employers, identify key referring accounts and help develop action-based business plans.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate outstanding organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral), be committed to supporting business growth and project an authentic, warm, welcoming image to clients in person, digital communications, email or via the telephone.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Plan, develop and publish social media content across all media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Manage and maintain digital channel engagement and social interactions.
  • Monitor and report on website and channel analytics.
  • Liaise with copywriters to generate blog content.
  • Upload and optimise blog content onto the WordPress website creating appropriate graphics from stock or software (such as Canva).
  • Create content to develop optimised website landing pages and print marketing materials. 
  • Work and coordinate with appointed external creative and digital agencies to support the overall business and marketing strategy.
  • Conduct market research, keeping up to date on current trends, contributing and reporting findings into marketing meetings and development strategies.

Business Development Support

  • Support business development, in relation to customer enquiries, making phone calls, emails, replying to expression of interests via online platforms and sales enquiries.
  • Assist the Head of Business Development with diary management, booking of meetings and follow up action as required. 
  • Support and collaborate with sales promotions, including event preparation, promotion and assisting management, followed by post-event reporting and analysis.
  • Organise and prioritise own workload within established procedures, referring more complex issues to the relevant manager.
  • Update client portals and assisting with the management of the CRM system to ensure it is an up to date and effective tool.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Some understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels (PPC, search, SEO, etc)
  • Knowledge and experience of maintaining social media channels
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and astute attention to detail
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with the UK health & care sectors
  • Qualification in Business, Marketing or a related subject
  • Experience of graphic creation
  • Online portfolio of previous work
