ABOUT HOMEPROTECT

We founded Homeprotect on a simple principle – to provide protection to people underserved by the home insurance industry.

We’re experts at insuring people who want to build or buy a unique property, renovate, rent a home or leave it unoccupied. We can cover people who travel a lot, run a business from home or even collect rare treasures. We protect people who love living in a listed building, having a view of a river or sunbathing on a flat roof.

We can do this because our smart tech enables our customers to get an instant, online quote to cover a huge range of complex needs and our UK customer support teams are on hand to provide information and support when only a real person will do.

Our insurance has already empowered hundreds of thousands of people to protect their homes and the things they love. But we’re not content with being the leading provider of what’s called ‘non-standard’ insurance. We believe there’s no such thing as ‘standard’. We’re all unique and we all deserve home insurance designed with our individual needs in mind – something our combination of real people and smart tech enables us to do.

Our simple promise? Whoever you are and wherever you live, with Homeprotect we’ve got you covered.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK HERE

Our customers come from all walks of life and so do our people. We’re a small but perfectly formed team, made up of insurance industry specialists alongside a diverse mix of technologists, data scientists and customer and marketing champions from all sorts of industries and backgrounds. We all bring our individual expertise, an appetite for innovation and a shared ambition to empower people to protect their homes and the things that they love.

Working in a fast-paced environment where change happens regularly is how we do things. But we also recognise that you’ll do your best work when you have the right balance, and that’s why we have fully embraced hybrid working, and in some cases, fully remote working, giving our teams the flexibility to choose the right location and working hours for them. We prefer to focus on the outputs of their work, not where they complete it. That said, there will be times when getting together in one location makes sense, but day-to-day, our teams have the freedom to decide where to work and we trust that they’ll make the right decision balancing the business needs and their own preferences.

Most companies think their culture is great, however at Homeprotect, we have the proof to back this up. We have been recognised externally as a Great Place to Work for the last five consecutive years.

  • Website optimisation to support SEO growth – Understand SEO priorities and turn SEO copy briefs into new content that is accurate and on brand, as well as editing webpage copy across a range of commercial and informational pages to implement new copy that’s optimised for SEO, to improve SERP rankings and attract valuable backlinks. All copy you write or edit needs to be engaging, accurate, on brand and meet the objectives set for it.
  • Content support for website – Make other website content updates on our CMS (WordPress) to support SEO and PR initiatives, for example adding blog posts, amending tags/meta descriptions or adding internal links.
  • Social calendar ownership – Work with the Senior Brand and Communications Manager and other key stakeholders to understand our priority customer segments and develop content ideas to target them. Create the monthly social media content plan to help to tell our brand story, encourage engagement with our customers, grow our brand awareness, employer brand and start to build out social as a sales channel. Manage the execution of social posts across Facebook and LinkedIn, including image sourcing or the creation of graphics with our in-house designer.
  • Management of review websites – Manage the Homeprotect presence on a range of review websites, which is key to managing our online reputation. You’ll need to proactively increase the number of customer reviews we obtain and manage our online profiles. You will also need to look after the relationships with the key review sites, tracking spend for any paid subscriptions and working with the Finance team to ensure invoices are paid on time.
  • Resolve customer queries – You’ll respond to customer queries for marketing across a diverse range of topics including promotions, offers and any other relevant initiatives. You’ll need to involve other teams where necessary to ensure any customer issues are resolved ASAP and deliver top quality customer service.
  • Reporting and evaluation – Use tools such as GA4, Semrush and Hootsuite to put together monthly reporting on the performance of SEO content changes and social media, focused on key metrics such as SERP ranking changes, plus engagement and conversions for social media. Show how these amends are tracking against annual KPIs and actively use the insights gained from your performance results to support future optimisations and activity. You’ll be able to piece together two data sources, interpret the two together and work out whether or not the work you’re doing is meeting its goals and why, as well as make suggestions and take action off the back of the findings. You’ll evaluate your activity regularly and share insights with the marketing team about what is/isn’t working and what we need to change or do differently, to increase the effectiveness of our overall content marketing and digital activity.
  • Make sure everything’s compliant – We’re a regulated business, so even if you’ve not worked in Financial Services before, it’s really important to understand the importance of complying with industry regulations within all our marketing. You’ll take responsibility for signing off all content with our Compliance team before go-live to make sure it’s factually accurate and compliant and you’ll document all your changes – so it’s essential that you’re organised, methodical and meticulous.
  • Keep our brand and tone of voice front and centre – Finally, you’ll make sure all content is aligned with our brand/campaign messaging and tone of voice.

Requirements

  • Experience in content and digital marketing – It doesn’t matter what sector or type of business you have experience in, but it’s essential that you are happy to ‘pitch in’ on a wide range of tasks to support customer acquisition and brand building through content and digital marketing – you need to thrive doing the doing as well as collaborating with the wider marketing team in supporting the broader content and SEO strategy.
  • Experience of optimising content to support SEO objectives – You understand digital marketing, and SEO in particular, knowing how the right content can help support/optimise SEO to improve search rankings and increase conversions. You may also have experience in link building or digital PR, and creating shareable content which attracts high quality backlinks. You’re interested in external factors that affect SEO too, such as Google algorithm updates.
  • Social media content creation – you may have run or supported with the development of organic social media channels, with experience of creating and delivering a brand’s monthly content calendar. It’s likely you’ll be familiar with using Hootsuite to schedule content and for reporting.
  • You’re a solid writer - As well as understanding the performance side of marketing and the importance of metrics and reporting, you also understand the importance of brand tone of voice and how that can come alive in different channels and formats, have a great grasp of grammar and brilliant attention to detail.
  • An analytical mindset – Although there’s a creative element to the content creation aspect of this role, it’s essential that you’re comfortable with using data and analytics to regularly report back on what your content has delivered – you’ll be used to using a CMS for making website updates, you’ll be comfortable using GA4 to support your reporting and you have good excel skills.
  • Customer focused – You’re able to put yourself in our customers’ shoes to write engaging content which best meets their needs, and you’re able to proactively resolve their marketing queries first time.
  • Working at pace, proactively – As a business, we’re growing fast and so need people who can effortlessly juggle a number of projects and changing priorities in a dynamic environment where we have the freedom to ‘get things done’ (but without ever compromising on quality or attention to detail). You take ownership for your own work, use your initiative to get it done with minimal assistance, whilst making sure everything is compliant and goes through the appropriate sign-off process. You’re able to make suggestions on how we can use content to progress our marketing activity and are always looking for ways we can improve our marketing outcomes.
  • Collaborative – You love coming up with your own ideas but you also enjoy collaborating with others (both in-house and agencies) to take their ideas on board and work with different teams on a variety of projects. You’re ‘action-focused’ and able to take applicable agency recommendations and implement them.
  • A natural curiosity – Whether it’s a new reporting tool, the latest AI advancement or an understanding of the latest algorithm updates, you’re open to learning new skills, taking on new tasks and you staying up to date with external developments that impact SEO and digital marketing.
  • Stakeholder management – You’re used to collaborating with different stakeholders and working with a variety of feedback/viewpoints in creating digital/social content. You understand that different stakeholders can have different perspectives on the way product information should be presented to prospective customers and can work with them when it comes to finalising copy. You’re able to proactively manage relationships with the review websites and teams across the business to enhance our online reputation.
  • You may have experience within Financial Services/insurance - Or you can show that you’ve been able to hit the ground running, probably at a high-growth D2C start-up or scale-up business. If you’re new to Financial Services, it’s important that you understand what it means to work within a regulated environment, ensuring all external content goes through appropriate Brand and Compliance sign-off before go live, as well as consistently documenting all of your content changes.
