Reporting into our Director of Performance Marketing and with a specific focus on growth, we need someone who is both highly analytical and creative with their ideas on how to reach new customers. You will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and optimising our paid social media advertising campaigns, whilst shaping, leading and mentoring your team.

The Role

Your daily to-dos might look like this:

  • Manage planning, execution, reporting and optimisation processes across the performance channel in a highly organised manner (this includes managing agencies for some activity) with specific focus on paid social campaigns
  • Develop new and innovative performance marketing strategies that drive growth and expansion, including exploring opportunities for testing across other channels outside of paid social
  • Optimise and grow campaigns, carefully balancing various KPIs such as CPA, volumes, ROI and more
  • Train and develop a team ensuring they are confident in the operational running of campaigns and are able to make optimisation recommendations
  • Create new paid social campaigns and performance marketing experiments, using A/B testing techniques to inform future strategies
  • Working with the Head of Design, direct all design requirements for performance marketing, with an understanding that you will own the testing framework that will require new creative on a very regular basis
  • Write clear briefs but with an openness to flexibility during the creative process
  • Generate clear and concise reports to share with stakeholders with recommendations for improvements
  • Identify opportunities and implement new processes to ensure the team operates efficiently
  • Continuously communicate with the wider team before, during and after project completion, managing stakeholder expectations and prioritising tasks
  • Complete ad hoc analysis in excel/google sheets to inform future strategies, investigating competitor activity and collaborating with BI and data teams when required
  • Educate colleagues on the requirements of your channel, using evidence to demonstrate the impact it can have on business metrics
  • Adopt new technology and develop solutions that provide useful insights in a clear and efficient manner
  • Help build and review digital attribution models for the business

Requirements

These skills will help you go far in this role:

  • Demonstrable experience in performance marketing, focusing on paid social strategies ideally within a high-growth startup
  • Is a mentor for your team and advocate for our brand values
  • A proven track record in running successful multichannel online acquisition campaigns, including remarketing, attribution and analytics, and working with significant budgets
  • Understand the technical and analytical elements of all relevant digital platforms in hyper-detail, including tracking, attribution and experimentation features
  • Experience running international paid social media campaigns including localisation
  • Obsessed with optimisation - you live and breathe campaign performance data and know exactly what levers to pull when optimising a campaign against specific KPIs
  • Significant experience with analytics and visualisation tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, Microsoft Excel
  • Solutions orientated, delivering lasting solutions balancing risk mitigation, flexibility and business continuity through business cases and proposals supported by data and evidence
  • At ease with startup culture and able to work hands on in a flexible and agile manner
  • You like autonomy and have the ability to get stuff done without close supervision - you take ownership of the vision and can figure out how to execute against it
  • Curious about new trends, advertising products and growth opportunities with a can-do attitude and full of great ideas
  • Very personable and great at building constructive relationships with colleagues, developers, partners, media owners and agencies
